The goal of our Mind/Body programmes is to provide you with knowledge and skills you can use to feel physically and psychologically better. In general, there are two types of people who we know will benefit from Mind/Body programmes: -Those who are feeling OK - but anticipate more intense feelings as treatment progresses and want to stay OK.Those who are already not feeling OK and are dreading what lies ahead, maybe on the basis of past IUI or IVF failure.
You do not have to be a Bridge patient to attend Mind/Body courses.
Could you benefit?
Try this simple stress test
Do you feel you've lost touch with your 'old self' since the fertility crisis began?
Is it hard to take pleasure in things you once enjoyed?
Has it become difficult to share feelings with kind and well-meaning friends because they aren't going through it, so don't 'get it'?
Do you dread hearing news that someone you know is pregnant?
Answering yes to any of the above is a sign that the desire for a baby could be making you feel overwhelmed on occasions. Joining a Mind/Body group is a way of helping yourself re-balance by learning new stress reduction and relaxation skills in a supportive atmosphere where everyone is in the same situation, and where peer reviewed and published results, in terms of improved psychological symptoms and pregnancy rates, are hopeful.

"Fantastic support! I had some of the information already but it was great to have a safe place to talk about these things."
